Chronic sinusitis of the maxillary sinuses
I frequently have colds, constant urge to clear my throat, and I am constantly phlegmy all year round. The ENT doctor attributes this to sinusitis of the maxillary sinus. After 2 months of using Avamys (twice daily, 1 spray per nostril), there has been no improvement in symptoms (fatigue, throat clearing, phlegm), so he prescribed me Doxycycline, Celestamine, and Phlogenzym (see attached report). I have not started this therapy yet.
I do feel like something is happening, as when I blow my nose, sometimes scabs come out that are somewhat bloody.
Do you think it is necessary for me to take the prescribed medications? I would like to skip the antibiotics, as I have had bad experiences with them, especially because I get fungal infections very quickly. Would it be possible to take Celestamine and Phlogenzym mono (the package insert says maximum 2 tablets per day, but I was prescribed 3 per day?) and continue with Avamys?
I would greatly appreciate your clarification.
