Bleeding at the anus
Good day,
I would like to describe my case to you in as much detail as possible:
For about 2-3 years now, I have occasionally (i.e. every 6-10 months for a few weeks at a time) experienced bleeding during bowel movements. The blood does not come from the colon, but directly from the anus. I strongly suspect that it is related to my bowel habits (I often strain heavily and wipe "until everything is clean"). When the bleeding occurs, I am more cautious during bowel movements for the next few days and the issue resolves itself.
In the picture, you can see a swelling at the anus. Sometimes this swelling is quite noticeable and palpable, while other times it is barely present or not present at all.
My suspicion is an anal venous thrombosis. There is no pain, and I do not have any other symptoms. I just want to make sure that it is nothing serious. Please let me know if further investigation is necessary.
By the way, I am 21 years old.
Thank you in advance and best regards.
