Refractive error eye surgery

After a cataract surgery, I experienced a visual impairment. Depending on the existing visual conditions (contrast, distinct elements, strain from prolonged reading, etc.), I experience vision disturbances when using both eyes. I see images or parts of images double. When reading, the lines of text overlap, creating a spacing of four lines instead of three, making it unreadable. This is greatly influenced by font size, spacing, and the duration of visual strain.

After some rather primitive measurements and some trigonometry, it was found that the visual axis of the left eye, which was operated on, deviates about 1.5 degrees downwards and 0.5 degrees to the left from the visual axis of the right eye. These deviations are likely at the limit of what the brain can compensate for.

Now, a second cataract surgery (on the other eye) is recommended. Could this second surgery reduce or even eliminate the visual impairment?
