Plastic the Last

Dear Dr. Höllering,
I promise you: this time I will really contact you for the very last time regarding the cursed plastic shoes.
To finally let go of this issue, I have secured additional psychological-therapeutic support.
Therefore, you can assume: today's inquiry is the last on this topic.
So, here is the final question:
I mentioned that I wore the shoes for about 7-8 years, even barefoot and often with a bleeding heel.
You replied that despite this, the intake of pollutants was too low to significantly contaminate the body. That is surely ruled out.
What I didn't mention yet: I wore the shoes (at home) on average for 10 hours daily over all those years.
Considering this quite long daily wearing time, is the exposure still considered minimal and a significant contamination of internal organs surely ruled out?
Should the areas of skin that had contact (feet) be carefully monitored in the future?
Best regards,
Roland
Good evening,
I admire the consistency with which you have responded to your annoying fear and sought psychotherapeutic support. It impresses me that you have recognized your fears as pathological and immediately acted upon them. That is good, and hopefully they will soon be a thing of the past!
I assumed that you have worn the shoes for many hours; they are indeed very comfortable! Even if you had been walking barefoot the whole time (which you certainly are not), you can be sure that your internal organs have not suffered any harm. I also do not see the need to regularly inspect your feet closely. Again: too few components are released to lead to any significant contamination.
Do you remember? Your fear started with the unpleasant smell after using a solvent. It's a pity that the fear then transferred to normal wearing. However, normal shoe abrasion is minimal, and the contact with the foot is neither particularly close nor in a confined space (therefore, any dissolved substances dissipate well).
I hope you will soon get rid of your worries! Just look at the millions of such shoes worn in Germany... For years and months, without any noticeable damage occurring, which would not have gone unnoticed by environmental toxicology authorities! This is just a practical reinforcement of my theoretical arguments.
I wish you a worry-free time!
Sincerely, Dr. Höllering
