Brain damage?

I (38, male) slipped on the stairs and landed on my butt. A shock went through my whole body. Afterwards, I didn't notice any symptoms, but somehow this incident deeply unsettled me. Most importantly (and this is my actual question), I felt a strong jolt to my head upon impact. Could it be possible that my brain has been damaged as a result?

Dr. med. Frauke Gehring

Good evening,

If you did not lose consciousness and did not feel dizzy, then you most likely did not suffer a concussion. That's already a good sign. It is amazing how much our skull can withstand! However, it is still possible that there may have been a small bleeding that only becomes apparent a few days later. Therefore, please take it easy for a few days. If you experience unexplained headaches or vision problems, please consult a doctor immediately.
But it is very likely that everything is fine. I wish you all the best!

Sincerely, Dr. Gehring
