MYOM Uterus translates to "fibroid uterus" in English.

I have had a posterior wall uterine fibroid since 01/2015, so far not a big deal, as I have no complaints.
01/2016 Sono: 2.64 x 2.81 cm
09/2016 Sono: 5.34 x 3.55 cm
Still NO complaints, taking Qlaira and therefore NEVER have bleeding.
Should now go to the chief physician for further clarification.
Now I am already dying inside due to fear of a sarcoma!
How much fear do I have to have now?
Kind regards
Hello,
You don't have to die of fear. While a sarcoma or leiomyosarcoma may indeed be present within a myoma, this is an absolute rarity, even with enlarging myomas. If that were not the case, women would practically never be advised to wait for the development of a myoma. Unfortunately, you did not mention your age or whether your family planning is complete. Surely, the chief physician will explain to you what treatment options exist for the now enlarging myoma. For example, if you still want children, there may be reasons to remove a benign myoma so that it does not cause any problems during pregnancy. On the other hand, it could also be that further growth due to hormone intake is expected, and therefore one should consider and discuss myoma removal before it becomes so large that removal could be difficult. Please attend the appointment and listen to the considerations of your gynecologist. The risk of sarcoma may not even play a role in this situation!
Best regards, Dr. R. C. Berg
