Lyme disease inquiry

Hello, I was at the hospital and the doctor said it is a textbook case of a Lyme disease rash. Now I have to take antibiotics. The bite/sting happened 2 weeks ago. Is it already too late? Can I still be cured, and when will stage 2 occur? :'(

Dear inquirer,

The response rate to antibiotic therapy is very high, which means that the chances of recovery are very good. Only about 3-12% of untreated (!) patients develop stage II of Lyme disease at all.
It takes several days or even weeks for the red ring to form around the bite site. So, you are in a good treatment window with the antibiotics.

Best wishes,
