Ask a doctor on the topic of Internal medicine

Infection

Hello,
I have a question. Since Friday, I have been experiencing muscle and headache pains and sweating heavily. I do not have any fever or symptoms of a cold. The doctor prescribed me antibiotics (Kepinol forte) because he heard congested bronchi while listening to my lungs. Tomorrow, I have to attend a seminar for 4 days, which is very important. The doctor said it is okay to take the antibiotics during the seminar. I stayed at home today and rested.

Since I do not have a fever, cough, runny nose, etc., and the seminar is very important to me, do you think it would be responsible to attend?

Best regards

Dr. med. Olaf Stephan

Dear Inquirer,

apparently you have a viral respiratory infection (usually caused by viruses), which can also occur in summer. Fever may not necessarily occur in immunocompetent adults. Treatment has already been initiated by your general practitioner and since you are feeling somewhat better now, your participation in the seminar is quite possible from a medical point of view, if you feel sufficiently fit.

Best regards, O. Stephan.
