Crohn's disease

I have had Crohn's disease since 1984. Currently, I have a slight pulling sensation in the lower part of my intestine. In 1996, a part of my small intestine was removed. Can one see from my current lab values whether there is a recurrence of inflammation. The symptoms I currently have have neither improved nor worsened.
ESR: 4 ALT: 22 WBC: 5.12 RBC: 4.3 PLT: 12.7 HB: 13.2 HCT: 39.2 MCV: 90.4 MCH: 30.4 MCHC: 33.6 PLT: 155.
Best regards.
Dear Questioner,
I can understand your concern very well.
First of all, it is always difficult to evaluate laboratory values without knowing the corresponding normal values of the laboratory. These values can vary from lab to lab and are therefore important. At first glance, the values I can see look quite good, at least they do not indicate an acute and highly inflammatory process.
However, this also depends on whether you are taking any medications. If you are taking anti-inflammatory medications due to your Crohn's disease, this will of course also have an impact on the blood values.
Regarding your symptoms: what you describe is unfortunately very unspecific, meaning there are many, many possible causes. This ranges from bloating to an early stage of appendicitis. I don't want to scare you, but I just want to say that it is impossible to make a diagnosis from a distance and without an examination.
Therefore, I recommend that you see your doctor and ask them to investigate the cause of your pain.
I hope I could help you and wish you all the best,
Warm regards, Susanne Plotz
