Gastrointestinal tract

Hello,
I have been having stomach and intestinal problems for about 2 weeks, initially diarrhea. Now, the stool is very soft and lumpy. For the past 2 days, I have noticed that the toilet paper is yellow when wiping. I used to eat a lot of sweets, but for the past week I have stopped, as well as sweet drinks.
Every morning, I dissolve psyllium husks in water, but it has not made my stool firmer.
What could be the trigger? I had a gastrointestinal endoscopy done 2 years ago.
Hello!
Psyllium husk is more of a nonspecific remedy used for diarrhea or constipation. Its effectiveness is limited. Since you mention having yellowish stool, this is more indicative of a liver or gallbladder issue rather than a problem with the intestines. To further investigate this, you will need a blood test and possibly a stool test. Due to the many differential diagnoses, I recommend that you seek further evaluation from your primary care physician. Unfortunately, this cannot be done from a distance.
I wish you all the best!
