Eye drops swallowed.

Hello!

Today I visited an ophthalmologist. She put drops in my eye - for "staining" as she said, in order to better assess the condition of the cornea with a device. Unfortunately, the first dose missed (I blinked), and the stuff ran down my face. I also got some drops in my mouth and swallowed them with saliva.
Just a question: can these swallowed drops harm the body?

No, you don't need to worry. It happens relatively often that such drops are swallowed in small amounts. Nothing happens and it is not harmful.

All the best!
