PID or polar body diagnostics for chromosomal anomalies?
Hello, we wish to have a child. My girlfriend, 35, has already had 3 miscarriages. She has a balanced chromosomal anomaly, a translocation. We now want to try artificial insemination. We are considering whether we should do a pre-implantation diagnosis (PID) or a polar body diagnosis. What are the advantages and disadvantages from a medical point of view? (I am aware of the legal situation). What are the usual prices and what should be considered? How reliable are these methods? We have already been advised by the treating doctor, but I would like a second opinion. Thank you very much.
