Thrombosis tablets vs. cortisone

My wife has been taking cortisone for a longer period of time, currently 2.5 mg (prednisolone).
Due to a long flight, my wife would like to take a thrombosis tablet before the flight.
Do you see any problems or risks in this regard?
Thank you very much.
Best regards.
Hello,
To prevent thrombosis in cases of increased risk, Heparin injections are actually the preferred method, preferably in combination with compression stockings or at least "travel stockings" from the pharmacy.
If you prefer to take tablets, you can expect a certain level of protection from aspirin.
Marcumar would offer high safety, but it cannot be taken for just 2 days, only on a permanent basis with blood tests.
In addition, there are two new substances that could potentially be considered, but do not have approval for this use: Xarelto and Pradaxa.
Which tablets would your wife like to take and what is her risk situation aside from the prednisolone?
Kind regards, Dr. Schaaf
