Thrombosis risks

Dear Dr. Schaaf,
After 2008, I now have my second thrombosis (see attached doctor's report). The follow-up appointment with the doctor has been rescheduled to June 2014.
We are planning to go on our annual winter vacation (in the Alps).
My question: Are there any other risks besides a skiing accident, and what are they? How should I evaluate wearing ski boots?
I kindly ask you to specify the risks so that I can assess whether to go on vacation or not.
Thank you for your efforts.
Best regards
Hello,
the risks are
- Constriction by shoe
- Hematoma/bleeding in case of a fall
- possibly cold feet due to compression
If you tolerate Xarelto well and have well-fitting stockings, I would have no objection to a skiing holiday, just please make sure to wear stockings and be cautious (which you seem to be already) due to the mentioned risks.
Otherwise, it seems that you are well examined and treated.
