Swelling under the ankle

Hello,

I went out partying last night and when I came home in the morning, I noticed a slight swelling/bump on the inside of my right foot (just below the ankle). It is not visible externally, but you can feel it immediately when you run your hand over it. It also hurts a bit, but only sometimes and very lightly (like a very mild cramp that disappears after a few seconds). It also hurts when I press on it, but again, only very lightly.

I am a hypochondriac and I am a bit scared right now because I googled it right away and found various things like lymph node swellings, lymphedema, which can be caused by cancer, etc. I didn't even know there were lymph nodes in the foot, so I wasn't expecting something like this when I entered it into the search engine. Now I am in total panic and would prefer to go to the doctor immediately, but I have to wait until Monday. But maybe you have some advice for me and can reassure me :-(

Oh, about lymph node cancer. At first, I thought it was somewhat reassuring that the swelling hurts a bit, because I keep reading that with lymph node cancer, you have painless swellings of the lymph nodes. However, I did drink alcohol yesterday, and it also says on the internet that with lymph node cancer, you can have "alcohol pain." Like I said, I am very anxious right now :-(

Hello,

complete all-clear. You've twisted your ankle a little, nothing serious, you probably didn't notice it while partying and that's why it's swollen now.

There's a slight possibility it could also be a ganglion, but even that is much less likely.

Everything you've read, you can completely forget. Even if it may have sounded fitting, it definitely does NOT fit.

Elevate your foot, take an aspirin or ibuprofen and tomorrow everything will look much better, by Monday you probably won't even feel the need to go to the doctor.

All HARMLESS!

Have a nice evening.
