Mild pain at the lower rib cage.

Good evening,

for about 10 days now I have been experiencing a slight pain on the left side of my ribcage. I mainly feel a pulling sensation when I haven't moved for a long time (e.g. in the morning when getting up or after standing/sitting in the same position for some time). I also feel a slight pain when taking deep breaths.

It is difficult to pinpoint the exact location of the pain. It is more towards the back, but not so far back that I could trigger it by pressing. Somewhere in the area of the kidney or spleen. It could also be related to muscles or nerves.

Externally everything looks fine. I have had a slight circular redness in the area of the pain since at least last week, but this may not be related. Nevertheless, I have attached a photo.

I am male, 28 years old, healthy, and of normal weight. No other complaints.

Best regards.

Dear patient, please show the spot to a dermatologist. It could potentially be an erythema of Lyme disease after a tick bite. Your symptoms are too unspecific. I would recommend having it checked and possibly also doing a Lyme disease serology. Regards, Welsch
