I don't know what your cerebrospinal fluid was tested for.
Another possibility: The pathogens were not in the cerebrospinal fluid at that time, but in other cells.
Every antibiotic can have side effects. The package insert is as long as that of other antibiotics too...
But most people tolerate Doxy very well.
