Demand sore throat and lupus

Hello, sorry again but two concerns are still bothering me, maybe you can calm me down or give me your assessment.

Firstly, the sore throat in the morning/afternoon. This only occurs on one side - and if I remember correctly, I had the same symptoms in 2017, twice within a few weeks. At that time, antibiotics were given and then it was fine (which I don't want anymore). This time it is also recurring, with no other complaints (except for a bit of coughing occasionally). It has been going on for 5-6 days now, could it also be a chronic tonsillitis? It doesn't seem to be so uncommon and could maybe be explained by my immunosuppression? Should I be worried about something worse here?

Also, a small additional question - since having Lupus, I have also been suffering from alopecia areata (which is barely visible due to my longer hair, luckily) - but for a few months now, I have noticed that there are sometimes small, slightly inflamed lumps in those areas in the mornings, you can't see them but you can feel them and they also hurt a bit in parallel with the Lupus activity. Luckily, they are gone after a day... I think this may be due to small inflammations in the fatty tissue or hair follicles in those areas, does that make sense? When feeling around, I also felt some bumps on the top of my head - are fears of multiple myeloma or meningiomas in this regard absurd again?

Thank you.

Good morning,

Antibiotics are only given in cases of proven bacterial infection, and even then improvement may have been a coincidence. A chronic tonsillitis would need to be visible in the blood or during an ENT examination. If by "something worse" you mean cancer: that doesn't cause pain.

You probably have small hair follicle infections.

Are you not serious about the last question, are you? A meningioma is IN the head, not on top, and a multiple myeloma is a blood disorder!

Warm regards, Dr. Gehring
