Bruise

Hello,
Lately, I have been worried about something new. I have a blue spot on the same spot on the top of my foot at irregular intervals, sometimes it even goes away for years. I usually notice it in the evenings while showering, my feet are often cold, and then it goes away after a few hours or the next day. But now it has been there for two days. I don't know where it comes from, usually I think it's just a pressure point, but it's in the same spot and doesn't hurt like a bruise. Now I'm scared and thinking about thrombosis or something else. I tried to take a picture, I hope you can see it well. I don't have anything else like this on my body. Could it be a blood clot or something?
Hello,
I can't see your image unfortunately. If you'd like, you can resend the image to info@v-e-n-e-n.de.
It definitely doesn't sound like a thrombosis and also not likely a circulation disorder. Those usually cause white rather than blue bruises.
What you might be experiencing are burst small veins that result in real blue bruises. It usually doesn't hurt much because it's just a small amount of blood spreading under the skin.
There are also functional circulation disorders, where certain areas of the skin are temporarily poorly or less circulated, but then return to normal circulation, for example in the cold. This could fit your description.
If you want to get checked to ensure everything is fine with your blood vessels, you should see a phlebologist or angiologist.
If your main concern is ruling out a serious illness, based on your description it seems that it's nothing serious.
If you would like more information, please ask and provide your age, weight, gender, underlying conditions, medications, and the exact location where the blue bruise appears.
Take care,
Dr. Schaaf
