Back pain

Hello, I have severe back pain in the lumbar area and when exerting myself, I feel a stabbing pain in my left chest which is very uncomfortable. I am 37 years old and work as a specialist in inpatient care, where I always have to function. I have been experiencing these symptoms for about 2 weeks now and it is getting worse day by day. What could be the cause? At the moment, it is so bad that every movement hurts and I struggle to get up when I have to write something on the PC (e.g. clicking off services). Lifting residents is a struggle for me. I can't really sleep at night because I don't know how to lie down. I don't know what to do anymore... Thank you for any advice.

Dear inquirer, please have yourself examined by an orthopedic doctor and if necessary, get a sick note. This sounds like a severely worn-out spine or a herniated disc, it will not improve on its own. Regards, C. Welsch
