High blood pressure after anesthesia

I had periodontal treatment on 25.11.21. With anesthesia at 10 o'clock. In the evening, I woke up with mild pain in my middle finger. I also noticed an increase in my blood pressure to 180 and accelerated pulse, as well as a slightly numb tongue. I called the on-call service, which sent the emergency doctor. The emergency doctor could not find anything serious and left. Since then, I have not slept for 2 days. My blood pressure remains at 140 to 170, whereas before it was 130 to 150. Now I am panicking that the anesthesia is the cause and that's why I can't sleep for days. Is that so or what could it be and can I hope to sleep again soon?
Hello!
I consider a connection between local anesthesia and your elevated blood pressure and sleep disturbances to be very unlikely, as common medications for local anesthesia are completely broken down or eliminated from your body in less than a day.
Rather, I believe that anxiety and racing thoughts are preventing you from sleeping and causing your blood pressure to increase due to stress.
I suggest you visit your primary care physician to investigate the root cause. Organic causes can be ruled out and, if necessary, a medication therapy can be initiated.
I wish you all the best!
