Rash related to sunbathing
During our last vacation, I did not initially protect myself with sunscreen (during the first shore excursion), but I also didn't spend much time in the sun. In the following days, I applied sunscreen (SPF 30) to the areas of skin that were not used to the sun (including my arms and legs). One evening, I noticed redness on my feet (in areas not covered by sandals) and on my shins. After a few days, the redness disappeared (see picture 1). The red dots, however, became even more intense (see pictures 2-3). I also had similar red dots on the tops of my forearms. These were not as intense, but these areas of skin were itchy and sensitive. Applying aloe vera gel to the arms helped to soothe them. I did not experience this itchiness on my feet and legs.
I did not get a sunburn anywhere on my body, and compared to previous vacations, I spent significantly less time in the sun than usual. Now I am not sure if this rash is a sun allergy or possibly an allergy to the sunscreen. Can you make a diagnosis based on the pictures? Or is this question more suited for a dermatologist?
