Oral allergy syndrome?

For some time now I have been experiencing the following problem: presumably after consuming certain foods, the next morning my tongue and mouth mucosa feel numb and swollen. My tongue feels as if it has been burned by hot food. This condition then lasts for 2-3 weeks, making it difficult for me to narrow down which foods may be triggering the problem. I suspect a cross-allergy (I have allergies to early blooming plants and grasses or cereal pollen). Question: could it be something other than an allergy (such as a fungal infection, etc.)? How can the very unpleasant symptoms be alleviated more quickly? Common antihistamines do not work, neither does cortisone. Thank you very much!

Dear inquirer,
Please have an examination by an ENT doctor.
Since antiallergic medication does not help, I do not consider your symptoms to be a cross-allergy. It could be a fungal infection, which can be clarified with a swab and inspection of the oral cavity. Symptoms can also rarely be caused by deficiencies (iron, vitamins). Tongue burning is also a classic symptom in many psychosomatic illnesses.
