Working as a small business owner while traveling the world - what should be considered?
July 16, 2014 | 40,00 EUR | answered by Ralph J. Schnaars
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am currently on a world trip, but would like to work as a small business owner in between. I have also been working as a small business owner for the past few years and, based on my previous income, continue to fall under the small business owner regulation.
At the moment, I am only insured through my travel health insurance and my clients would be located throughout Europe.
I do not expect my annual total income to exceed 8000EUR.
Can I therefore issue invoices or am I simplifying things too much?
Sincerely
Hello esteemed questioner,
It is NOT a problem.
With the revenue you have provided and the expected income, there is nothing stopping you from invoicing your clients.
Please do not include value added tax. As you are aware, a small business owner is not subject to sales tax. However, you must indicate on the invoices that you are a small business owner and exempt from tax calculation according to §19 UStG.
I hope this answer helps you further
and remain
With kind regards
