Scoliosis and computed tomography
Dear team,
I was born in the 32nd week of pregnancy and have been prescribed physiotherapy since birth. My right leg was 3cm too short and was reduced to 0.8cm with an insert.
I emigrated to Turkey 9 years ago and have not done anything for my thoracolumbar 15-degree Cobb scoliosis since then.
Three days ago, a lumbar tomography and scoliosis X-ray were done.
The doctor said that it had improved, but the curvature of the spine is still very visible in the image.
I have constant back pain in the kidney area that radiates to my right leg, feeling like it's asleep. Also, my right brain hemisphere tingles for a few seconds occasionally. Heartache and stomach pains are also present.
In the CT scan, one of the bone marrow marks is completely black when it should be white.
The doctor believed that I had nothing, which did not satisfy me because I have acute pain in the back, especially when sitting and at night.
The films are attached, but unfortunately, I cannot send you the CT scan as it is stored on a CD.
Can you tell me something about the degree of scoliosis? And what is the significance of the black bone marrow/cartilage (the white substance between the vertebrae is completely black at one point quite far down)?
It is really difficult to get good service in the healthcare sector in Turkey, even though I am being examined in private hospitals.
Best regards
