Bone marrow edema

Dear Dr. Ch. Klein,
Thank you for your statement regarding the bone marrow edema in my son's (15 years old) talus. I had forgotten to ask something further based on my initial inquiry.
1. Does magnetic field therapy actually help with these symptoms?
2. You recommend continuing the ongoing treatment, which my son is already doing, but are there perhaps other treatment methods available? Can you provide me with some information on that?
3. Is nutrition (metabolism) important during the treatment process?
4. What does "as a last resort, arthroscopy" mean? What exactly is done during this procedure and how long is the recovery time?
5. Of course, a tape bandage will be applied later on. Will my son be able to play without tape confidently and securely once the lower leg muscles are improved and strengthened, or would it be beneficial for him to wear a stable, good orthopedic brace for football? (My son plays for a licensed club) Can you provide me with any advice on this?
6. What should the rehabilitation training look like? Often, the rehabilitation trainer starts off too aggressively. Can you give us some advice and a timeframe for this?
Thank you.
