Testosterone and DHEA deficiency?
Hello,
I have been experiencing the following symptoms for several months:
Lack of motivation
Loss of energy
Fatigue
These symptoms came on suddenly for me. They were quite severe towards the end of last year, and although they are still present now, they are not as pronounced. Since I couldn't find an explanation for my suffering, I visited my general practitioner. He conducted a blood test, but the results were normal. A referral to an internal medicine specialist to investigate whether my thyroid gland was over or underactive also did not confirm any issues. I then asked my GP if it could be a nerve problem, to which he replied that if it came on by itself, it would go away on its own. However, since I still had the symptoms, I decided to independently conduct a hormone test online. The results showed the following values:
DHEA: 119.1 pg/ml
Testosterone: 86.9 pg/ml
Cortisol 1: 9.4 pg/ml
Cortisol 2: 4.7 pg/ml
Cortisol 3: 2.8 pg/ml
I took the cortisol samples in the morning, afternoon, and evening. I was told that my DHEA and testosterone levels are extremely low, which may be the cause of my symptoms.
My question is, if this is true, how can I get my levels back to normal? I am hesitant to go back to my GP because he had a different opinion. What should I do now? Should I get testosterone to feel better again? I am a 24-year-old male.
Thank you very much and best regards.
