Heart palpitations after a meal with beer and wine.

Hello,

I am looking for an explanation for the following observations on the topic of "Food and Circulation":

I usually have pronounced "low phases" after lunch with absence and fatigue. In contrast, recently after dinner and 2 mulled wines at the Christmas market, I experienced palpitations, sweating, and nausea. To avoid this, another time I drank non-alcoholic beer (2 pieces) after eating, which resulted in palpitations (about 120/min), nausea, feeling of heat, and moderate chest pain.

Since I have food allergies and pay attention to them, I cannot explain this. My other symptoms are usually itching or swelling, etc. Alcohol does not seem to be the cause either after the 0% beer.

Could it be due to the amount of food or beer/wine - which I rarely consume? Are there test methods to determine the cause?

Thank you in advance!

Dear questioner, it could be a histamine intolerance. Please consult an internist who can initiate further diagnostic steps. Regards, Welsch
