Blood pressure rises during sleep.

For a few weeks now, my blood pressure has been rising mostly during sleep, often in the afternoon, and sometimes in the night towards the morning. I notice this as a strange feeling in my stomach area and feeling a bit nauseous. When I measure it, it is around 150/100 or 140/90. Normally, my blood pressure is always 110/75. I have been taking 25 mg of beta blockers in the morning and evening for the past 4 weeks. I am scared and anxious, and have been receiving neurological treatment. I also used to take antidepressants up until 3 months ago.
Dear inquirer,
you report an increase in blood pressure during midday naps, if I understand correctly, you regularly take midday naps? The values you described are not initially dramatically high, this could be caused by panic disorder and the fear of measuring an elevated value.
Nevertheless, you should discuss the further course of action with your doctor, a 24-hour blood pressure measurement makes sense here. If it turns out that your values are only high at bedtime, it would be advisable to undergo a sleep medical examination to rule out sleep apnea (snoring with hidden breathing pauses) as the cause. The medications you are taking should be tapered off after a while (antidepressants) or well adjusted (beta-blockers) so that I would not see any further cause here. If the blood pressure remains too high, the dose of the beta-blocker would need to be increased or a second medication added.
There is no need to panic in my opinion.
