Pay German taxes from a foreign account.
November 20, 2011 | 40,00 EUR | answered by Dr. Yanqiong Bolik
Hello!
I operate the business account of my German company in Austria. Can I also declare this account to my tax office in Germany and pay taxes through this account, or receive a refund from the tax office? Or is there a regulation that my company account must also be in Germany?
Background: I have an Austrian and a German account and I notice that Austrian banks are much more pleasant, cheaper, and service-oriented. Therefore, I want to close the German account.
Best regards
Dear Mr. Judmaier,
Thank you for your inquiry, which I am happy to answer taking into account your commitment and the rules of this platform.
Please be aware that my explanation is based on the facts presented, and that adding, omitting, changing information, or the ambiguity of information can change the tax result.
According to German tax law, it is important to pay the due taxes. Please ensure that tax payments are made on time. It is irrelevant which bank you use for the payments. You are allowed to process the payments from your Austrian account.
I hope I was able to assist you.
If there are any uncertainties, please feel free to use the inquiry function.
Best regards,
Dr. Yanqiong Bolik
