Depreciation of an investment

Hello!
In 2008, I invested in a GmbH & Co KG that is active in the wood industry. It seems logical to me that I have to declare and pay taxes on the income from this investment in Annex G of the tax return.
Can I deduct my investment in return? If so, how? Is it a one-time deduction of the entire amount in 2008 or annual depreciation?
I would appreciate a competent answer.

By participating in the GmbH & Co KG, you will generate income. If it is a profit share, you must declare it for tax purposes in your income tax return. A loss can have a tax-reducing effect.
The determination of the amount of your profit share is done through the uniform and separate determination of profits for the respective calendar year.
In addition to the business income of the GmbH & Co. KG, their business expenses are also included, so that a profit or loss results in the balance.
You cannot deduct the contribution itself. It is indirectly written off if losses from this participation are allocated to you.
However, you must bear in mind that if your contribution has been depleted by losses, no further losses can be claimed. §15a EStG stipulates that these losses can only be offset against future profits from this participation.
