Main employment subject to social insurance contributions plus a 450 euro job plus a 400 euro side job... How much is left?
November 21, 2019 | 25,00 EUR | answered by Steuerberater Knut Christiansen
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am currently in training and earn 1300 euros gross (tax class 1). In addition, I have a 450 euro job that brings me exactly 450 euros additional income every month. Now I would like to take on another part-time job. To my knowledge, this would then be calculated with tax class 6. In this part-time job, I would earn 400 euros gross evenly per month. My question would be, how much of these 400 euros would remain for me per month or what would be the net wage in relation to these 400 euros gross? I just want to find out if this third activity is financially worthwhile - I am aware that I will get back some of the paid taxes at the end of the year, but I need the money now and not in a few months. I would appreciate a response. Thank you very much.
Good day and thank you for your inquiry!
In the context of an initial consultation, I would like to provide you with the following initial assessment.
As you are currently in training, you have a social security liable main employment. Therefore, according to information from the Minijobzentrale, you are only allowed to have one mini job. The second mini job would be combined with the main employment (thus being subject to social security contributions except for unemployment insurance) and would also be taxed with tax class 6. You would therefore have to expect social security deductions of about 80 EUR as well as income tax of approximately 50 EUR. This would leave you with approximately 270 EUR.
Please note that this forum cannot replace personal tax advice, but rather serves to provide an initial assessment. Incomplete or missing information may alter the legal outcome.
Kind regards,
Knut Christiansen
