Retiree with a €400 side job

Hello,
My wife, 68, and I, 72, are retired and we are expected to pay approximately €260 in income tax for 2010, as I still receive a company pension. Additionally, my wife earns €400 through a mini job in the family. The mini job is subject to flat-rate taxation by the employer. Do I still need to declare it in my tax return? There are different opinions on this topic on the internet. I would appreciate a competent answer.

Dear questioner,

Your wife's €400 job should definitely NOT be included in the tax return.

With the flat-rate employer contributions, all taxes and social security contributions are covered.

I hope this information has been helpful to you and wish you a Happy Easter!

Kind regards,
