Reparation
January 29, 2010 | 20,00 EUR | answered by Steffan Schwerin
It is on record that my father was in the Dachau concentration camp for 1 year due to communist activities, spent 8 months in prison in Zweibrücken for violating the Treason Act, and was beaten and threatened by a Nazi in his own house in 1939, before being drafted into the military and later sent to a penal company on the Eastern Front. He was later declared dead. Besides me, there is still a daughter living in France. My question is to what extent we are still entitled to compensation.
Dear questioner,
I will answer the questions you have asked taking into account the circumstances described and your input as follows:
The Federal Compensation Act (BEG), more specifically the Federal Law on Compensation for Victims of National Socialist Persecution, regulates a possible claim here.
You will need to inquire in your federal state which authority is responsible for the regulation.
The application can then be submitted there.
Since the claim is inheritable, you can also assert the claim.
Finally, I would like to point out that this platform cannot replace a comprehensive and personal legal consultation. The sole purpose is to provide an initial rough assessment of your legal issue based on the information you have provided by a lawyer. The legal advice I provide is based solely on the information you have provided. By adding or omitting relevant information in your description of the circumstances, a completely different legal assessment may result.
I hope I have been able to give you an initial overview and that my explanations have helped you. Please feel free to contact me through the follow-up option on this platform.
Furthermore, I am of course available to you for legal representation. I would credit the initial consultation fee in full.
A greater distance between lawyer and client is generally not a problem. With the help of modern communication tools such as email, post, fax, and telephone, legal representation is also possible.
Best regards,
Steffan Schwerin
