Trigeminal neuralgia

Hello.
I have been suffering from trigeminal neuralgia for several months, affecting the 2nd and 3rd branches of the trigeminal nerve. The medication with Novaminsulfon initially showed great success. However, now (after taking approximately 150ml) the drops are only having very little to no effect.
My question: Is it true that exercise can help with such a nerve disorder? If so, what type of exercise (endurance sports, strength training)?
Thank you for your effort!
Dear inquirer,
It is not to be expected that sports will help with trigeminal neuralgia pain, but on the contrary, physical exertion can even lead to an increase in pain. If you still want to exercise despite the neuralgia, it is not generally prohibited, but you should try out for yourself what is possible without exacerbating the pain. Likewise, sauna sessions with their high thermal stimuli can cause an increase in pain. If Novamin alone is no longer effective, a combination with Lyrica or Neurontin (the drug of choice for neuropathic pain) should be considered, and a stronger pain reliever may also be used, for example, a low dose of Targin is recommended (but must be prescribed on a separate prescription = controlled substance prescription). It is best to discuss this with your treating physician or be referred to a specially trained pain therapist.
Sincerely, O. Stephan.
