Tumor marker M2-PK greatly elevated.
I urgently need to contact you. My problem:
I am a 40-year-old male and I had my blood tested myself and received the following values.
Tumor markers:
CEA 0.6 normal range less than 5
CA 19-9 7.2 normal range less than 37
CA 72-4 less than 0.8 normal range less than 3.5
CA 125 7.4 normal range less than 35
SCC 0.2 normal range less than 2
NSE 12.5 normal range less than 18.3
Cyfra 0.35 normal range less than 2.9
Pro-GRP 11.00 normal range less than 46
LDH 146
CRP less than 0.03
M2-PK 22.7 normal range less than 15
I currently have heartburn and burning in the stomach, as well as a pressure feeling on the chest. I have already seen a gastroenterologist with ultrasound, everything seems fine.
Last year in October, I had an endoscopy, colonoscopy, lung X-ray, and an MRI-MRCP, as well as ultrasound of all abdominal organs. Everything was fine. I had similar symptoms last year and an elevated tumor marker CA 72-4 of 7.2. It went back down after some time. That's why all the tests last year.
Also in January and May 2011, the M2-PK test was done in my blood. The value was 15.0 both times (normal range less than 15.0).
Now the value has increased significantly. Does this indicate cancer? If yes, where should I get checked as soon as possible?
I am so scared of it.
Thank you for your help.
