How can I reduce my weight in the long term?

Dear Doctor,

My name is Eva Wagner and I have an urgent concern regarding my weight. For some time now, I have been struggling to keep my weight under control. I currently weigh 85 kg at a height of 1.65 m, which according to my BMI is considered overweight. I have tried various diets but have not had long-term success. I feel uncomfortable in my body and have concerns about my health.

I have read many guides and tried many tips, but so far nothing has really worked. I eat healthily and exercise regularly, but my weight does not seem to decrease. I am worried that my overweight could have long-term effects on my health and I am determined to do something about it.

Can you help me reduce my weight long-term? Are there specific diets or exercise programs that you can recommend? Could there be underlying health issues that could be affecting my weight? I am willing to take all necessary measures to achieve my goal, but I urgently need your support and expert advice.

Thank you in advance for your help, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Eva Wagner

Dear Mrs. Wagner,

I understand your concerns regarding your weight and can empathize with the frustration of not achieving long-term success despite healthy eating and regular exercise. First and foremost, I want to emphasize that it is very positive that you have already integrated healthy habits such as healthy eating and regular exercise into your life. These are important steps towards achieving a healthy weight.

However, it is not uncommon for weight to not decrease as quickly or as significantly as hoped despite these measures. There are many factors that can influence weight, including genetic predisposition, metabolism, hormone balance, and possibly underlying health issues. It may therefore be advisable to undergo a medical examination to rule out or treat possible causes of your overweight.

When it comes to diets and exercise programs, there is no "one size fits all" solution. Every individual is unique, and what works for one person may not necessarily be suitable for another. It is important to find a nutrition and exercise strategy that fits you and your lifestyle. A balanced diet with plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats is important, as well as regular physical activity. It may also be helpful to work with a nutritionist or a personal trainer to create an individualized plan.

In addition to nutrition and exercise, it may also be beneficial to reduce your stress levels, get enough sleep, and ensure adequate hydration. These factors can also impact your weight.

I strongly recommend scheduling an appointment with your primary care physician to conduct a thorough examination and work together to create a weight loss plan. Together, we can find solutions that are suitable for you and enable long-term success.

I hope this information is helpful to you and I am available to support you on your journey to a healthier weight.

Sincerely,
Babette Kleine
