Compensation for assistance in the house and yard.
Dear lawyer,
My father supported my grandmother, who passed away this year, for over 10 years, as my grandfather had already passed away over 10 years ago, in the household and on the property (about 1300 sqm). He did this daily (before and after work), as my grandmother was unable to do it alone. His brother and his family never paid attention to this, but now that it comes to inheritance (namely all savings) he is dissatisfied. Is it possible to offset the years of support my father provided to him in order to not have to pay out his mandatory share of the property? (Because what would it be paid out of?)
Thank you for your support.
