What costs will arise if I commission a lawyer to enforce my warranty claims?

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am reaching out to you as I urgently need help in enforcing my warranty claims. Several months ago, I purchased a defective electronic device for which I can still claim warranty rights. Unfortunately, the manufacturer is not responding to my inquiries and I feel abandoned.
I have decided to hire a lawyer to enforce my rights, as I do not have sufficient legal knowledge to do so on my own. However, I am concerned about the associated costs. Can I as a consumer afford the legal fees? What are the approximate costs that I could incur?
It is important to me that my warranty claims are finally enforced and I do not have to wait any longer for my money or a repair. Therefore, I would like to know if there are possible solutions to minimize the costs of legal representation or if there are alternative ways to assert my rights.
I thank you in advance for your support and advice on this matter.
Sincerely,
Felix Voigt
Dear Mr. Voigt,
Thank you for your inquiry regarding the enforcement of your warranty claims in relation to a defective electronic device. It is understandable that you feel abandoned when the manufacturer does not respond to your inquiries. In such cases, hiring a lawyer may indeed be beneficial to effectively enforce your rights.
In terms of the costs for legal representation as a consumer, there are various ways to cover them. One option is for your lawyer to cover the costs through legal aid or legal aid for court proceedings, if you meet certain requirements. Legal aid is granted if you are unable to bear the legal costs yourself due to your financial situation. Legal aid for court proceedings can be applied for if you are in financial need and involved in a legal dispute.
The exact amount of the lawyer's fees depends on various factors, such as the value of the dispute, the complexity of the case, and the extent of the legal work. In general, the fees are based on the Fee Regulations for Lawyers (RVG). For out-of-court proceedings, flat fees or hourly rates can be agreed upon. In the case of a court proceeding, the costs are determined by the value of the dispute and may therefore be higher.
To minimize the costs of legal representation, you could also try initiating out-of-court steps first to reach an agreement with the manufacturer. However, a precise assessment of the costs and possible solutions can only be made through individual consultation with a lawyer.
I recommend that you promptly contact an experienced lawyer specializing in warranty law to discuss your situation and find a tailored solution. The enforcement of your rights should not fail due to financial constraints.
I hope this information is helpful to you and I am available for further questions.
