Implantation bleeding

Dear Dr.,
I have a question. I had unprotected sex on Wednesday, and I am not taking the pill. It was also during my fertile days. When can one notice a pregnancy, or when can implantation bleeding be expected, if it has occurred. My partner and I have been trying for a while now, but I am also taking medications, Rivotril, Mirtazapine, citalopram. My periods are irregular and usually only last 3-4 days. Is this normal? Could it be due to the tablets that it is not working? However, since today I have again felt a strange pressure in my lower abdomen, but I don't think one would notice that so quickly. Right? Best regards
Hello,
implantation bleeding occurs around the time when a normal period would come, so with your irregular cycle, you wouldn't have a real indication. The best way to find out if you are pregnant is with a pregnancy test, which can be positive as soon as your period is missed, depending on the manufacturer. However, the issue here is that you can't accurately predict when your period should come, so you can't determine when the test would be reliable.
I assume you have already discussed your desire to have children with your gynecologist. It seems important to track your temperature over a longer period and keep a menstrual calendar to understand when your ovulation is and when you would have fertile days.
Unfortunately, it is highly unlikely that you would feel anything after just 3 days that would indicate pregnancy. You can't rely on such early signs.
Does this help you or do you have any further questions?
All the best,
Dr. Schaaf
