Swine flu infection

Hello! As a student, I am constantly around people every day. Whether at university or using public transportation. Now I am thinking about how I can protect myself from infection (besides getting vaccinated) - through hygiene or protecting my nose and mouth? Thank you very much!
Dear Inquirer,
even though the discussion about vaccination is currently heated, the WHO (World Health Organization) clearly recommends getting vaccinated. If you do so, you have already taken the most effective protective measure.
Furthermore, the Robert Koch Institute has published a guide that describes the most important hygiene measures:
Wash your hands: wash your hands regularly. Keep your hands under running water and rub them thoroughly with soap for 20-30 seconds (including between the fingers). Then dry them with a dry and clean towel and, if possible, keep your hands away from your face (as viruses can easily transfer from the hand to the body).
Cough and sneeze hygienically: When coughing or sneezing, it is best to cover your face with your sleeve and not your hand (to keep your hands clean). If possible, turn away from others.
Avoid shaking hands with others (even if it may seem impolite, it is safer).
If you follow these tips, a lot has already been achieved. I hope I could help you and wish you all the best,
warm regards
Your Susanne Plotz
